Art Docent
Art is brought into our classrooms through the hard work of parents and the support of Skyridge PTC.   Skyridge PTC pays for  Art Docent portfolio materials and training for the parent volunteers.  Our wonderful parent volunteers donate their time to teach the art lesson in the classroom.

Assemblies
Skyridge PTC provides funds for, and organizes, fun and educational assemblies throughout the year.

Classroom Allotments
The largest general program funded by Skyridge PTC directly benefits all our students.  The PTC provides an allotment to our teachers to be used exclusively for classroom materials.

Computer Lab/Library
Due to budget cuts, our Computer Lab and Library are no longer funded by the school district.  In order to keep these open to our students, the Skyridge PTC staffs the Computer Lab and helps to staff the Library.

Crossing Guards
Have you seen our 4th and 5th grade crossing guards helping to protect students at the entrance to our school?  They receive small "thank you" gifts for their hard work.

Discretionary
The Skyridge PTC board sets aside a small amount of the budget to address unexpected funding requests which may arise during the school year.

Enrichment
Skyridge PTC coordinates after-school classes which can be attended by our students.

Field Trips
Skyridge PTC provides each teacher with an allotment to be used to defray field trip costs for the year.

Field Trip Scholarship
Skyridge PTC has a small fund to help those students unable to cover the full cost of field trips.  Requests can be made through the student's teacher.  This fund is limited, and not intended to cover the more expensive field trips of the upper grades.

Learn to Earn
Skyridge PTC volunteers help students learn the value of savings!   Students establish savings accounts at Umpqua Bank and are able to deposit money on Skyridge School campus every Tuesday morning from 7:30-7:55am.

Life Lab
Skyridge PTC provides a small amount of  funding for the Skyridge Life Lab.  Students and teachers appreciate the valuable learning tool provided by a growing garden!

Olympics
Skyridge Olympics is another program which encourages our students to stay physically active.  They participate in timed races throughout the year, attempting to improve on their own personal times, as well as competing against their classmates.

Passport to Reading
The Passport to Reading program encourages our students to read.  Students count the number of pages they read, and are able to earn lots of fun prizes, culminating in a limo ride and pizza party for those students reading 15,000 pages during the school year!

PTC Meetings
Skyridge PTC Meetings are held monthly (see Calendar).  Children are welcome -- we provide babysitting!

Staff Appreciation
Skyridge has wonderful faculty and staff, and Skyridge PTC tries to show them how much they mean to us during Staff Appreciation week in the spring.  We give them a week of good food, surprises and pampering!  We just wish we could do it all year long!

Student Directory
Ever have trouble locating a classmate to ask about homework, or a school project?  The Skyridge PTC would like to prepare a directory of Skyridge students, to be distributed to our student body.  Families would only be included with their permission.

Trekkers
Trekkers is a program which encourages our students to stay physically active.  Parent volunteers count the laps around the field which the students run at lunch time, and the students receive prizes based on the number of laps run.

Variety Show
The Variety Show is the chance for kids to show off their talents!  They can bring their act to the stage!  Rehearsals are held for one week prior to the show.

Yearbook
Skyridge PTC has talented and hardworking parent volunteers who put together our yearbook.  An order form will be sent home during the year... don't miss the opportunity to purchase this treasured keepsake!
